Gerrards Cross Bookshop opened for business when the building was completed in 1982. The first owners were Ian and Jo Pavitt who ran it for 10 years, handing it onto Val and Geoff (V&G Books). In turn Val and Geoff were to sell to Sally Ann Palmer and Richard Barker, however, when twins arrived in their lives and they found they could not continue so the shop was handed on again. Sheryl Shurville and Morag Watkins, owners of the Chorleywood Bookshop, found it when it was about to close.
They took it on and reopened it in November 2006.
Sheryl and Morag are the founders of the Chorleywood Literature Festival www.cwlitfest.org and run many successful author events. The Gerrards Cross Bookshop prides itself on personal service and speedy delivery service. Most items ordered one day are delivered the next. You are welcome to contact us with your ideas and suggestions. Above all we want the Gerrards Cross Bookshop to be at the centre of the cultural life of Gerrards Cross, serving the community of which it is a part.
